TESTIMONIALS
- Dinner with friends. We found this on Trip Adviser when enjoying a weekend in Potts Point. Great welcome by staff. Meal did not disappoint. Superb steak, great Argentinian wine and the profiteroles are to die for!NathanCurrumbin
- I'd just got off my flight from London via Abu Dhabi and I was whisked away to this lovely small bistro at Potts Point. Great food, great Gallic staff (somewhat tempered by being in Sydney methinks) for some lovely fresh fish and great red-meat and a lovely bottle or two of NZ pinot noir!Ron P ShaftesburyUnited Kingdom
- What a delight it was to find this intimate French bistro whilst strolling along Macleay Street on a warm evening. The food took me back to the bistro's of Paris, it was simple, delicate, classic French fare simply cooked to perfection. The charming Stefano looked after us, his warm nature and effortless service was so refreshing in a world where many restaurant staff seem to have little interest in good service these days. I was just as taken by the decor, a refined style that just made us feel warm and welcome. We shall be back.NeverhomeMelbourne
- Macleay Street Bistro seems to get better with age. The grand dame of Macleay Street never disappoints, which is why I head back there whenever I can when I am in Sydney. It truly does feel like dining in a Paris bistro (with maybe better service!) Started as usual with my favourite oysters with champagne vinaigrette followed by on of the best magret de canard dishes I have ever eaten. And still thinking about the brussel sprouts with bacon. Not a dessert person so passed on that but am sure they are superb!VoyageMaidenGold Coast
- There were 9 of us for a late lunch. Service was extroardinary with Stefano being very attentive to us. I chose Scallops with small roasted tomatoes entree size. We chose a variety of vegetables for the table which were cooked to perfection. Everyone at our table was impressed with their meal and the level of service. We ordered real italian coffee made by the best Barista in town. Thank you, the coffee was the best I've had in a long while.Pauline H.Adelaide
- Had a long overdue catch up with some colleagues over dinner here, it was enjoyable and a good place for a business dinner. The staff were very responsive, our glasses always filled and the food was served without delay. We all enjoyed the food immensely, it's always good when a restaurant hits the mark with every dish, from entree through to dessert we were happy with absolutely everything. A well rounded wine list as well and not overly expensive. The intimate size makes it a good a place for a relaxed dinner.James M.Melbourne
- Just returned from another visit to the Macleay St Bistro, where the quality of the steak was matched by the warmth of the welcome from Stefano, and his outstanding service. If you live in Sydney, or are just visiting, don't miss this exceptional evening out! We ordered the eye fillet "blue" (as we always do) and honestly this was the best that we have eaten in years. The steak was buttery and absolutely perfectly cooked. The pomme frittes was also perfectly cooked.FeFeeeeSydney
- I very much enjoyed the experience dining with my wife at this restaurant. The food was excellent with seared scallops for entree, and crispy skin salmon and duck for mains. The taste was fresh and exquisite with reasonable portions served. Our waiter was very polite and attentive throughout. We shared an intimate table for two during our early evening booking.PaulSydney
- A year or so since my last visit, it was nice to have a leisurely dinner and find that while there is a lot changing in Potts Point, the bistro has retained it's relaxed charm, delicious food and such friendly service. The menu has grown in size since our last visit, but the quality of the food has not changed and it's nice to have a few more options to choose from - the Sweet Corn & Crab Soup was simply divine! When the weather is great, as it was when we dined, sit out on the terrace if you can and watch the world pass you by on Macleay St.MelbtravellerBrisbane
